Release 0.5.0

Bumps the version to 0.5.0 and dates the changelog. Nothing else changes: this PR touches pyproject.toml and CHANGELOG.md only.

The release contains #39 (Django client cleanup, thanks @Kayvan-Zahiri), #40 (lockfile security refresh) and #41 (the fixes and additions found by live API verification). See the 0.5.0 section of the changelog; the few behaviour changes are also covered in the upgrade guide linked from it.

Checked on this exact commit before opening

  • Built with python -m build, as publish.yml does: twine check passes. The wheel contains only postmark/ and its metadata; the sdist has only the expected files.
  • Published dependency ranges are unchanged from 0.4.0 (including pydantic>=2.6.0,<3.0.0).
  • The wheel installs into a fresh environment, with and without the django extra, and pip check is clean. The new methods work from the installed package.
  • The full suite passes (652 tests) against the oldest supported dependencies: pydantic 2.6.0, httpx 0.28.1, tenacity 8.2.3, email-validator 2.1.1 and Django 4.2.
  • The runtime-dependency audit that publish.yml runs reports no known vulnerabilities (verified when chore(deps): refresh the lockfile for security advisories #40 landed).

After merging

Tag v0.5.0 on the merge commit. The tag starts publish.yml, which pauses at the pypi environment for approval before anything is uploaded.

Bump the version to 0.5.0 and date the changelog. This release fixes several
response-parsing and filter bugs found by testing against the live API, adds
bulk-request listing and webhook statistics and verification, and credits
the contributor of the Django client cleanup fix.
