What and why

socsims-1021 task 3, the companion to rapid PR 500. The ruling decision-pixel-columns-fail said a failed 64 px local background fails the difference job, where dev measures the pixel columns on the unsubtracted image. On run 158 (Russ's 10/21 socsims window, dev's socsims SFFT block) that failed 6 of 1,998 differences, all SCA 18; Russ's run of the same images exited 0 on all 1,998. Rapid PR 500 takes dev's fallback. This rewrites the ruling to match (label decision-pixel-columns-background), along with the difference page's sentence and the two migration-table references.

Files

  • system/decisions.md: the ruling rewritten in place, its label renamed, the run 158 measurement added.
  • system/difference.md: the sentence and its reference.
  • system/migration.md: two references to the renamed label.

Divergences

The ruling is no longer a divergence from dev. It stays on the page because it carries the background's measurements and the history behind rapid PR 500.

Measurements

Run 158: 6 of 1,998 window differences failed with photutils' All boxes contain <= 3686.4 unmasked or finite pixels. A central 64 px box of job 28596's SFFT difference keeps 0.885 of its pixels after the 3-sigma clip, under photutils' 0.90. The raw numbers are in rapid PR 500's body.
