The alerts page said only the difference cutout was populated and an alert was about 67 kB. That was the retired stage. The packet stage has filled all three cutouts since rapid 0d503382 (2026-10-21), each a 129x129 float32 FITS stamp of 83,520 bytes (14,400 of header with the parent's WCS and SIP cards, 66,564 of pixels), so an alert is about 251 kB before the container's deflate and about 193 kB after it, measured on run 7's SCA 8 container (39 packets).

  • system/alerts.md: the Cutouts section leads with the packet stage's behaviour and the files it reads, then keeps the retired stage's record below it, the pattern the Kafka section already uses; the block-locator paragraph carries the current bytes; the intro sentence no longer says two cutouts are off.
  • system/foundation.md: the cutout bullet carries the stamp and alert bytes.

Companion: rapid PR fixing the same 67 kB figure in assemble.py's docstring.

…size on the alerts and foundation pages

The alerts page said only the difference cutout was populated and an
alert was about 67 kB. That was the retired stage. The packet stage has
filled cutoutDifference, cutoutScience and cutoutReference since rapid
0d503382 (2026-10-21), each a 129x129 float32 FITS stamp of 83,520
bytes, so an alert is about 251 kB before deflate and 193 kB after
(run 7's SCA 8 container, 39 packets). The Cutouts section now leads
with the packet stage's behaviour and keeps the retired record below
it, as the Kafka section does; the foundation page carries the bytes.
