Summary

  • Keep the workplane picking MeshView when rebuilding grid meshes, preserving installed mouse event filters after theme changes.
  • Allow a configurable depth offset for the 1 mm grid; the BowlerStudio fallback remains -0.05 mm.
  • Allow CaDoodle to hide only the main ground's visual fill, without disabling workplane picking or hiding custom workplanes.
  • In the moving-camera texture mode, store line alpha in the material rather than in texture pixels, keeping contrast consistent when switching to crisp geometry.

Validation

  • CaDoodle bugfix at cb323c51, BowlerStudio development at a00e785e.
  • ARM64 macOS, JavaFX 25: major, all, texture, and hidden were all manually tested (4/4 PASS).
  • :BowlerStudio:spotlessJavaCheck, :spotlessJavaCheck, and shadowJar passed in the final four-mode test.
  • Slight texture softness during camera movement is accepted; major remains the default mode.

Scope

  • BowlerStudio defaults remain backward-compatible. A separate CaDoodle PR enables the tested offsets and transparent main ground.
  • Existing custom Workplane visual artifacts were reproduced on the unmodified baseline and are outside this PR.
  • The visual ground change affects viewport presentation across themes; theme CSS is not changed here.
  • No Chromebook performance numbers are claimed.
