Verification options and build paths scripts/verify.sh |
Adds project and build-directory modes, argument validation, MPD build-directory discovery, and build commands for each mode. |
CTest verification and supporting coverage scripts/verify.sh, scripts/test/test_verification.py, .pre-commit-config.yaml, AGENTS.md, DEVELOPING.md, scripts/README.md |
Lists and runs selected CTests, rejects empty selections, and propagates command failures. Regression tests cover the workflow and failure cases. Guidance documents the script and test-only limitations. The pre-commit hook now includes shell files. |

MPD verification can fail for tests that need project-provided runtime dependencies. Run those tests in the project environment before merging.

AGENTS.md: # Phlex — Kilo Agent Instructions
## Build and Test
For local verification, use [scripts/verify.sh](scripts/README.md#build-and-test-verification)
by default. It builds first, lists the tests, and runs the same selection. It stops
on failure and rejects an empty test selection. Use a normal configured build;
local verification does not require coverage collection or a CI run.
AGENTS.md: # Phlex — Kilo Agent Instructions
## Build and Test
For MPD test-only runs, follow the same-shell project selection and test commands
in [scripts/README.md](scripts/README.md#build-and-test-verification). Test-only
runs do not establish that the build is current.

Some non-code line specific items:
- In the PR description, the AI-generated text refers to "PR 3"—I guess that is the third PR in the stack in one direction or another, but it would be nice to have the actual
#PR cross-reference. verify.shis a reasonable way to preserve knowledge of particular ways to invoke Phlex' tests at specific times. My concerns are that by referring to it inAGENTS.md, you are removing choice from the user unless they override it in their original task prompt or subsequent steering prompts; and the way it is referred to inDEVELOPING.md, it could be interpreted as a requirement.

Expand docstrings in scripts/test/test_verification.py to Google style, with Args, Returns, and Raises sections. Test behavior is unchanged.

Summary
First of the five-PR concept-registry stack, based on
main. Isolate localverification and contributor/agent guidance before the framework changes.
scripts/verify.shwith MPD and standalone modes, optional test-name regex, and verbose output. With no regex, run the full configured suite.
invalid arguments, and empty selections.
document that a test-only rerun does not establish build freshness.
No framework runtime, GitHub Actions workflow, hook-version, or coverage
configuration change is included.
Evidence
against the initial replay: 2 failed, 16 passed.
After: Adding tool-default parallelism made all 18 verifier regressions pass,
including real CMake/CTest integrations; post-formatting reruns also passed.
scripts:unit: 451 pytest cases passed, zero skipped.A shell-only verifier change triggers the scripts-test hook.
Local macOS/AppleClang evidence, not CI approval. The two concept/registry tests
are introduced in PR #1001; their absence here is intentional. Unavailable or disabled
optional configurations are not claimed as validated.
Merge Danger
Door: Two-way
Revertable without changing public framework APIs or persisted data. Later stack
validation uses this helper, so reverting it requires a replacement procedure.
Blast Radius: Tooling
Parallel builds/tests may increase resource use. Shell-only changes now run
script tests, and empty test selections fail instead of appearing successful.
