I never really understood why we document going all the way to the /src directory with cd, and then running rip from the main folder we just passed with ../, and it is not really explained that this is what is happening, two dots might as well be magic that only works from /src as far as an inexperienced user is concerned.
Staying in /src you can run make, so I kind of get why, but maybe a sentence explaining that this is why we advise to do it this way would be more insightful.
Something like

With the cd command navigate to the src directory, it is better to have this as your base directory because you can run configure and make as you apply changes to the code. But the rip script is one folder removed from src a quick way to reach it instead of cd .. you can have .. in the path to call the script as shown.
