There has been some changes in einsteinpy website. We lost the older one, and hence need to update this

Hi 👋 and thank you for your contribution! 🙏

This pull request is being closed automatically - but don't worry, this is not the end, and we may re-open it.

For some background, we have recently started seeing a rapid increase in the number of pull requests opened. Some of these are from good-faith humans, but some of which are from autonomous LLM agents or humans using LLMs who do not have a genuine understanding of, or interest in, the project. We are therefore auto-closing pull requests from new contributors, but if you are a good-faith human, we want to make sure your pull request gets considered! So if you would like us to re-open your pull request so that it gets reviewed, you need to do two things:

  1. Add a comment here to explain why you need the changes here to be considered, as in how the bug or missing feature affects your work, or whether this is an issue you have encountered but does not affect you.

  2. Join the astropy slack using this invite link and head over to the #new-contributor-requests channel to introduce yourself and let us know about this pull request

The second step is important, as we may otherwise miss notifications about this pull request.

To be clear, our AI policy does allow the use of LLMs as part of contributions, but we need to see authentic engagement and understanding from humans making the contribution.

Notes for maintainers

If you know this is a genuine user and the PR is is compliance with the AI policy, you may re-open this straight away. After two successful merged pull requests, the user will be added to the allowlist and future PRs will no longer be closed automatically.

Is there a general rule on what can be done in such cases? I wanted the package to still be in a searchable state, .org is far from possible. Someone else bought it and is running the webpage (IDK why). I will have to resort to some complex/long domain names. If there is any suggestion, I wholeheartedly welcome it

That sounds scary. 😱 What if they are trying to domain squat and then inject malicious code? Is there a way to report it and have it taken down?

Is there a general rule on what can be done in such cases?

I am certainly no expert in such things, but I can ask over at Astropy Slack. Are you on it? I can ping you there.

LGTM but I should let Affiliated Editors actually review and approve. I have pinged them as reviewers. Thanks for your patience!

I'm confused now because Einsteinpy.org also works, at least right now. However, you are the maintainer, so it's up to you to pick which domain you want listed.

It works, but its not something we as a community are controlling. I do not have access to DNS table, and would want users to stay away from the page. They can make it not work anytime sadly

Not active on astropy slack. I am working on reporting it and trying to take it down.

CI failure is unrelated.

I agree it's ultimately the maintainers' choice; apparently .com is no longer strictly confined to for-profit enterprises, nor is .org to non-profits exclusively. Alternatives could be .net, .info or .science, but as you've already set up einsteinpy.com, that should be perfectly acceptable.
The .org site looks like a (very?) old version, and several of the links, docs, tutorials and binder demos notably, are broken or already redirected to illicit, possibly phishing links. More importantly, many of the https://pypi.org/project/einsteinpy/ links still point to the .org sites, so I'd urge you to fix those as well, as soon as possible.
Finally, even if the other player purchased the domain legally, that site can certainly be seen as impersonating or stealing your project's identity. Maybe someone in the project is more familiar with the legal aspects, or possibly we could ask in the pyOpenSci slack for advice?

Is your Team page up to date? I see @ritzvik and @Masquerade0097 are still active in the project, but the gh handle for Bhavya Bhatt seems broken.
