What changed

  • OpenAPI Generator 7.12.0 → 7.26.0 for the Java v2 (jakarta / Jersey 3) SDK; still targets Java 8
  • Jackson 2.17.1 → 2.21.6, jackson-annotations 2.21 (#23105, #24460, #25046)
  • Gradle wrapper 8.7 → 8.14.5 (#24396)
  • Overrides to keep the public API and Java 8:
    • kept the public Configuration() constructor, which upstream made private (#20738)
    • kept the 13-argument ApiClient.invokeAPI(operation, …, isBodyNullable), which upstream replaced with a 14-argument version (#23542); API classes still call it, so existing mocks keep working
    • kept Java 8 bytecode and jakarta.annotation 2.1.x, which upstream moved to Java 17 and 3.0.0 (#23810)

Customer impact

Minor release (2.11.0), no breaking changes to the public API (checked with japicmp against 2.10.0). Tests pass on Java 8 and 17.

Additive:

  • Configuration.setApiClientFactory(Supplier<ApiClient>) (#20738)
  • ApiException.getErrorEntity(); for 4xx errors it returns the same ErrorResponse as getErrorResponse() (#23542)
  • Nullability annotations on API method parameters (#20806)
  • @JsonProperty(required = ...) on model properties, labelling only (#21876)
  • Date-time parsing also accepts a space instead of T (RFC 3339) (#20700)
  • More ApiClient members are protected, so it can be extended (#21251)

Visible:

  • A custom ClientConfig set on ApiClient is no longer reset to defaults when the HTTP client is built (#20687)
