LGTM. This is a dev-only dependency bump, and the lockfile matches it.

What was reviewed:

  • The autoevals range change in pyproject.toml (<0.1 to <0.5) lines up with the requires-dev specifier and the locked 0.4.0 entry in uv.lock. The listed dependencies of the locked package are unchanged.
  • How autoevals is used: nothing in langfuse/ or tests/ imports it. create_evaluator_from_autoevals in langfuse/experiment.py only duck-types the scorer call (input/output/expected in, .name/.score/.metadata read back), so the 0.x version jump doesn't touch library code.
Extended reasoning...

The change touches only pyproject.toml and uv.lock. It widens the dev-group autoevals range and regenerates the lock to 0.4.0. It touches no security-sensitive surface and no runtime dependencies. I approved because nothing in the package or the test suite imports autoevals, and the only integration point duck-types the scorer result. The CODEOWNERS file covers only .github/, and the PR timeline shows no reviewer objections.
