- hatch tutorial: drop detached = true from the scripts table, where
hatch rejects it, fix the build:check command name, and write the
flag as TOML true in the prose
- nox: install pytest with conda_install and the package with pip,
since conda_install(".[tests]") cannot solve

Two config examples fail when copied.
tutorials/develop-python-package-hatch.md:detached = truesat inside[tool.hatch.envs.build.scripts], and hatch 1.18.1 rejects it ("must be a string or an array of strings"). The environment already sets it, so I removed the line, fixed the comment tobuild:check, and wrote the flag as TOMLtruein the prose.tests/run-tests-nox.md:session.conda_install(".[tests]")hands.to mamba as a package name, so the solve fails. It now installs pytest from conda-forge withconda_install, then the package withsession.install("."). I left out the--no-depsthe nox docs add there, so pip still installs any dependency the reader didn't get from conda.Tests:
nox -s docs-testpasses, and so do the translated builds. I ran both snippets in a container (hatch 1.18.1, nox 2026.10.20 on miniforge): both fail as published and work fixed.Best,
