Summary

Adds a script that:

  • creates two testing apps - web (vite) and mobile
  • installs our library from a linked .tgz in both
  • fills them with example code to test out
  • installs their dependencies

The script creates the apps in the same directory as the .tgz lives!

Test Plan

  • Grab a build artifact with our package, e.g. here
  • Unzip it
  • run yarn create-release-apps and as an only argument provide a path to the .tgz package
  • both apps should be created. There's a chance node will complain about versioning and stop the installation - set node version for the whole directory (e.g. via nvm use ...), remove folders that were created so far and run again
  • the last message in the script informs where both apps have been created.

🟡 Changes recommended

The release script unconditionally runs iOS tooling, blocking Linux/WSL use, while the web template fails to load its stylesheet or apply editor styles.

What changed in this PR

Adds a release smoke-testing workflow that creates standalone React Native and Vite apps beside a packaged library artifact.

Changes:

  • Adds yarn create-release-apps to scaffold both apps, install the .tgz, and set up dependencies.
  • Provides native and web editor examples with a Bold toggle and formatting-state feedback.
  • Adds web styles for the example layout and controls.
File Description
scripts/release-templates/App.web.jsx Adds the web editor example and Bold toggle.
scripts/release-templates/App.web.css Defines web layout, editor, and button styles.
scripts/release-templates/App.native.tsx Adds the styled native editor example.
scripts/create-release-apps.sh Automates app creation, artifact installation, and template setup.
package.json Exposes the create-release-apps command.
