v6.8.30: jdtls fails to start, proxy download returns 404 (Release Binaries workflow did not run for the tag) #322

Closed

Description

@AndreLuisOvidio

Relevance Confirmation

  • I confirmed that this is not an issue with the Eclipse JDT Language Server itself

What happened?

After Zed auto-updated the extension to 6.8.30, jdtls no longer starts:

Failed to start language server "jdtls": from extension "Java" version 6.8.30: Failed to get proxy binary path: Failed to download proxy: download failed with status 404 Not Found

The tag v6.8.30 exists (bumped in #321), but there is no GitHub release with the java-lsp-proxy-* assets for it. The latest release with binaries is v6.8.29.

The Release Binaries workflow ran for v6.8.27, v6.8.28 and v6.8.29 (last run), but there is no run for v6.8.30. So the extension tries to download java-lsp-proxy for a release that does not exist.

With 6.8.29 the same setup worked (proxy at work/java/bin/v6.8.29/java-lsp-proxy).

What did you expect to happen?

The v6.8.30 release to be published with the java-lsp-proxy-* binaries, so jdtls starts normally after the update.

Environment

Zed: 1.25.3
Platform: Linux x86_64
Extension: 6.8.30
jdtls: 1.61.0 (manual, via jdtls_launcher)
Java: OpenJDK 25

@AndreLuisOvidio I've started the release workflow, expect the binaries to be soon available

Release artifacts are now available. Thanks again for raising the issue. I'm closing it.
