Script executed:

sed -n '1,115p' .github/workflows/guardrail-audit-alert.yaml
sed -n '175,220p' tests/test_guardrail_audit_alert.py
rg -n 'fail-with-body|Slack response|SLACK_STATUS|webhook returned|curl exit' .github/workflows tests

Repository: Framework-R-D/action-workflow-setup

Length of output: 5528

Log the Slack response body and curl exit code on delivery failure.

With set -e, curl --fail-with-body exits 22 on an HTTP 4xx or 5xx response. The assignment SLACK_RESPONSE=$(...) takes that status, so the step ends there. The if block at lines 69-72 never runs, and the response body is never printed. The body can name the cause, for example invalid_token or channel_not_found. curl's --show-error output reports only the exit code, not the body.

A 3xx response exits 0 because -L is not set. The if block runs and prints the status, but still not the body.

Capture the curl exit code with ||. Then log the exit code, the HTTP status, and the body together.

Review comment at @.github/workflows/guardrail-audit-alert.yaml around lines 65
- 72:
Update the Slack webhook request flow to capture curl’s exit status without
letting `set -e` terminate the step at the `SLACK_RESPONSE` assignment. In the
failure check, handle either a nonzero curl exit status or an HTTP status other
than 200, and log the curl exit status, HTTP status, and response body together
before exiting.
