proof(grade): mathesis Grade 3 receipt, canonical-flag attempt with a recorded waiver, and origin-record reconciliation - #14
Documentation, gate configuration, catalogue of open obligations, and three small Agda changes. No theorem is weakened and no postulate is added: same module set, same claims N-1…N-8, 0 postulates. Grade reported: mathesis Grade 3 and no higher.
epistemic-types closed #32 (2026-10-05, no transfer) and #39 (2026-10-25), revised its note on 2026-10-25, and named our "specification only" status text as the outstanding item; nextgen-typing#118 closed with the family row landed.
docs/secret-types.adoc — new Status of the model and Four distinct structures (confidentiality label / epistemic standpoint / resource grade / Echo residue), plus withdrawal of two false sentences: "there is no noninterference theorem in this repository" (false since 2026-10-12) and "pure, deterministic and total … no divergence" (the calculus has while + fuel; the theorem is termination-insensitive by design).
README.adoc, ADR-0004, docs/epistemic-types-transition-review.adoc — dated annotations and a 2026-11-01 addendum; history kept, nothing rewritten.
scripts/proof-flags.sh — one definition of the flag set, read by the gate, the laws certificate and the receipt.
scripts/grade-receipt.sh + verification/receipts/agda-grade3.a2ml — commit, Agda pin and provenance, flags, per-module sha256, per-claim ledger token and grade, Rocq/Lean legs, trust-base counts, [conformance] block. --check fails on drift in either direction against PROOF-STATUS.adoc.
docs/EXPLAINME.adoc — the Proof Ledger the Explainme standard §5 requires, and which we lacked while the README claimed PROVEN.
docs/proof-debt.adoc — the four trusted-base dispositions (all empty, enforced) plus #waivers.
Reports mathesis Grade 3 and no higher, and states that verification/proofs/{coq,lean4}/* are template skeletons, not the §2 recheck legs.
3. --cubical-compatible: one arm fixed, one arm is a decision
Attempted rather than waived-and-forgotten. Local repro (Agda 2.7.0.1) went 16 warnings in two classes → 13 in one:
#
Where
Outcome
1
Prelude.just-inj
relies on just injectivity; the lemma was dead code → deleted
2
Prelude._≟_
relies on suc injectivity → re-expressed through pred, which computes definitionally
3
Lattice._⊑_
fixed for real — the order was an indexed family, so every clause matching a proof was an indexed match. Re-represented as a computed predicate (L ⊑ _ = ⊤; H ⊑ L = ⊥; H ⊑ H = ⊤), so ⊑-trans, ⊔-upper₁, ⊔-upper₂ hold by computation and no proof term is ever matched. Cost, recorded in the file: L⊑H no longer pins its indices, so Countermodels names them (h {x = L} {y = H}).
What remains (13 warnings, one class) is just-injectivity out of the fuel semantics in tini/go/confine/confineW. Two escapes were measured and both are dead ends — record-returning definitions warn on the record constructor instead, and threading the result as a variable is warning-free but does not scale to clauses. The only real fix is a big-step relation, which changes what divergence means (N-5 becomes "absence of a derivation"). That is recorded in docs/proof-debt.adoc#waivers as waiver W-1, arm B2 — an owner decision, not a refactor, with its own "what would make this waiver wrong" clause. -WnoUnsupportedIndexedMatch is refused: that is a green gate over a weakened check.
4. The waiver is safe for the estate's real consumer — tested, not argued
metadatastician/lintel imports SecretTypes.{Prelude,Vars,Lattice.Record,Lang,Noninterference.Generic}, defines reader-sets : Lattice, and opens the generic TINI at it — pinned at ee01db4. I ran Lintel's own gate against this branch's HEAD: sibling development re-checks, Lintel's proofs check, 5 positive controls accepted, 4 expected rejections fail at their invalid declaration, negative control confirms it is not vacuous. All pass. The lattice change is non-breaking for the one repo that actually consumes this calculus, and README.adoc now records that consumer as a fact about an import — which does not change the 2026-10-04 owner decision that no consumer is selected.
5. The proof loop now runs in the sandbox, so CI is no longer the editor
scripts/dev-toolchain.sh provisions what this sandbox can actually get, and names the hosts that block the rest. Agda 2.7.0.1 via the Python binding plus the data directory from npm install agda-wasm (the wheel does not ship it, and Agda_datadir is ignored); Zig 0.17.0 via the ziglang wheel. A full SecretTypes. All check is 1.3 s, so the measure-fix-remeasure loop that produced §3 was possible at all.
Rust/Creusot, Rocq, Lean, Idris2 and Lambdapi are not provisionable here (blocked hosts, source-only releases, no OCaml). The Grade-2 legs therefore could not be run, and none were written: unverified Coq/Lean text would be prose wearing a prover's name. The receipt keeps both legs unavailable, per PROOF-POLICY §6.
docs/reports/status/toolchain-and-version-pins-2026-11-01.adoc records the installed/not-provisionable tables and resolves "latest stable" for every prover in §2 as a dated fact (Agda 2.8.0.2, Lean 4.35.0, Rocq 9.3.0, Creusot 0.14.0, Rust 1.99.1, Idris2 0.8.0, Lambdapi 3.0.0, F* 2026.10.25, Zig ambiguous: 0.15.1 on GitHub vs 0.17.0 on PyPI). Pins did not move on the strength of it.
6. Four gate failures found by running the gates, not by reading them
All four were reproduced locally before being fixed, and each one is recorded because the mechanism is the useful part:
Estate Rules — .adoc render gate. Failed in CI on dropping cells from incomplete row detected end of table, in a table with one short row. My first local check used @asciidoctor/core 4.1.1 (Asciidoctor 3.x core), which pads the row silently and passed all 168 files. @asciidoctor/core 2.2.9 (Asciidoctor 2.0.23 core, one patch line from CI's 2.0.26) reproduces the Ruby diagnostic exactly. A render check is only a check if its parser is the parser the gate uses; dev-toolchain.sh docs now installs that one.
SonarCloud — security rating on new code. Two findings in dev-toolchain.sh: [ instead of [[, and paths read from the environment. Both fixed: the paths are now fixed constants under $HOME in two named functions, because every use creates or writes into them.
Canon lockstep — see §7. Not ours.
A2ML (F-13) — the first receipt failed the estate's own schema twice (multi-line values, missing identity field). A "machine-readable" artefact that only prose can read is prose.
7. The canon pin: corrected by hand, because the job cannot check it
Canon lockstep has been red since before this branch, on main too, and the repository is not the reason: the job fetches raw.githubusercontent.com/hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo/${HEAD_SHA}/… — the template repo at this repo's commit — which cannot exist. It therefore reports "no rsr-profile.a2ml … this repo cannot declare a canon pin" whatever this repository declares, and the intended URL would 404 as well (the template's .machine_readable/ carries no profile at main).
So the pin was checked by hand against canon.lock (fetched from hyperpolymath/standards, which redirects to metadatastician/standards): criteria_sha256matched; version (2.1.1 vs 2.1.3) and gates_sha256 were stale, and both are now corrected. The criteria hash not moving is what makes this a correction and not a policy change — canon.lock's 2.1.3 entry is a gate-table detection patch that re-gates no criterion.
Two findings raised and not acted on, because they are decisions rather than patches: this profile is the template's file verbatim (role = "spine", and a maximal capability set including cli, container, benchmarks, docs-site on the strength of scaffolding rather than code — so the oracle is asked to score this repo against modules it does not carry), and canon.lock declares version = "2.1.3" beside tag = "canon-v2.1.2".
8. Handoff prompts for repositories that are not ours to edit
docs/reports/handoff/out-of-scope-prompts-2026-11-01.adoc, written after cloning each repo — which is the point, because two of my drafts were wrong:
thejeffparadox has no prover files at all (Julia experiment harness, not a formalised paradox), so the prompt is about metric names and null models, not about termination pragmas.
IDApTIK is Rust + Creusot (pinned v0.13.0 at 318615b), not Idris2 — and its gate is stricter than ours in two places (a two-directional debt ledger, and a planted mutant that must fail on the named goal, not merely exit non-zero). Its PD-06 row — a contract rejected because it is false at u32::MAX, "a mutant that passes for the wrong reason" — is the pattern this repository is going to cite.
stuff-of-awesome404s; that section is a question, not a prompt.
metadatastician/standards gets the four format/gate findings above, including the lockstep URL bug and the canon.lock tag mismatch.
Known red, attributed
Pre-existing on main: every remaining red was checked per workflow against f581f82, not assumed from one sample — governance.yml, rust-ci.yml, secret-scanner.yml, dogfood-gate.yml and ossf-best-practices.yml last failed there on 2026-10-27, hypatia-scan.yml on 2026-11-01, quality.yml is a startup_failure there. Canon lockstep is the job described in §7. Nothing on that list is caused by this branch.
Fixed here: Estate Rules, SonarCloud, Agda proofs (green on the 2.6.4.3 Debian pin as well as 2.7.0.1 locally).
…only' text
epistemic-types closed #32 (2026-10-05) and #39 (2026-10-25), its note was
revised on 2026-10-25, and nextgen-typing#118 closed with the family row
landed. Three of our documents still described the pre-2026-10-05 world, and
the canonical scope statement still called this repository specification-only
and its language total - both false since the TINI proofs.
- docs/secret-types.adoc: new "Status of the model" section (dated, with
evidence), and a "Four distinct structures" section holding confidentiality
label / epistemic standpoint / resource grade / Echo residue apart by name.
Non-claims list pruned of the two items now provided; totality claim corrected
(while + fuel; termination is the named open channel); review checklist gains a
per-item state column, with evidencing kept distinct from acceptance.
- README.adoc, ADR-0004, PROOF-STATUS.adoc: row landed not proposed; #32/#39
closed without transfer; annotations rather than rewrites of accepted text.
- docs/epistemic-types-transition-review.adoc: 2026-10-05 text kept as history,
plus a 2026-11-01 reconciliation addendum and a prepared, unposted note.
No code, no proof, and no import changed: the development still stands on
f581f82's module set and green gate.

…de 3
Conformance pass against standards/3-practice/PROOF-POLICY.adoc (owner ruling
2026-10-26, section 2.1 dated 2026-11-01) and mathesis
estate-mathematical-architecture sections 5-6.
- scripts/proof-flags.sh: one definition of the flag set, read by the gate, the
laws certificate and the receipt. Adds --cubical-compatible, the one flag the
canonical invocation had that we lacked; the other four are stronger than the
policy default and are documented as such.
- scripts/check.sh, scripts/minimal-laws.sh: consume that definition.
- scripts/grade-receipt.sh + verification/receipts/agda-grade3.a2ml: derived
receipt naming the commit, the Agda pin and provenance, the flags, the sha256
of every module, the per-claim ledger token and mathesis grade, the Rocq and
Lean legs (unavailable, with the reason) and the trust-base counts. --check
fails on any drift, including a claim id that appears in PROOF-STATUS.adoc and
not in the receipt, or the reverse.
- PROOF-STATUS.adoc: grade section; records Grade 3 and why not higher, and that
the template skeletons under verification/proofs/ are not the section-2 legs.
- docs/EXPLAINME.adoc: retitled and given the Proof Ledger the Explainme
standard requires (F-9); inherited template sections marked as inherited.
- docs/proof-debt.adoc: the four trusted-base dispositions, all empty and
enforced rather than asserted (F-10).
- README: states the grade and points at ledger, receipt and debt record.
- CI: receipt drift check, then a receipt re-emitted for the commit under test.
The proof development itself is unchanged: same 14 modules, same theorems.

Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description is detailed and substantive. It states the scope (documentation, gate configuration, open-obligation catalogue and three small Agda changes), the claimed grade (mathesis Grade 3, no higher), and the head commits. It explains the reconciliation of origin records, the Grade 3 conformance work (flag centralisation, receipt, Proof Ledger, proof-debt record), the handling of the --cubical-compatible flag with waiver W-1, the lintel consumer test, the sandbox toolchain, the gate fixes, the canon pin correction, and the out-of-scope handoff prompts. It also lists known red checks and their attribution. The template's required sections are covered in substance: Summary and Changes are present, and Testing is described in sections 3 to 7. However, the RSR Quality Checklist is absent, so none of the required items (tests, formatting, linter, banned patterns, unsafe blocks, banned functions, SPDX headers, secrets) are ticked or addressed. The Screenshots section is absent, but it is conditional. The description also does not link related issues with 'Closes #N' syntax, although it names issues #32, #39 and #118 in prose. The Testing section describes local Agda 2.7.0.1 runs and CI, but does not give a clear, runnable test command list, and the author notes that the --cubical-compatible check could not be run locally in the objectives. Overall the description is mostly complete in substance but omits the checklist.
Resolution
Add the RSR Quality Checklist from the template, with each Required and As Applicable item checked or explained. Confirm the required items: tests pass (state the command and result), formatting, linter, banned language and function patterns, unsafe blocks, SPDX headers on new and modified source files (including the new scripts and the new docs), and absence of secrets. For the As Applicable items, state whether STATE.a2ml, ECOSYSTEM.a2ml, META.a2ml, TOPOLOGY.md and CHANGELOG were updated, or why they were not. Add issue links in 'Closes #N' form where the PR closes issues. Add a short list of the commands used for the Testing section, with the results, and state clearly which checks were run only in CI.

The job log is served from a blob host some agent sandboxes cannot reach, so a
red gate was unreadable from an agent session - the state in which a gate gets
admin-overridden instead of fixed. The gate now emits its first errors as a
check annotation, readable through the API, in addition to the log.

Validate the receipt's source commit
Removing source-commit from both sides makes --check accept any stale or fabricated revision. This is already visible in the reviewed commit: the checked-in receipt names d6b1d960b70c, which is not an ancestor of dfb8928, while its actual parent is f581f82; the workflow's later “Emit the receipt” step only rewrites and prints the working-tree file without publishing it. Consumers therefore cannot rely on the committed receipt to identify the revision whose gate and hashes it records.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Reject nonzero trust-base counts
The generator only prints the number of matched escape hatches; it never requires that number to be zero. After adding a match and regenerating the receipt, --check compares against that same nonzero value and succeeds, even though the emitted note and docs/proof-debt.adoc state that any nonzero trust-base count fails CI and makes the receipt meaningless. Add an explicit zero assertion before writing or accepting the receipt.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Do not claim the command language has no state
The newly added trust boundary says there is no state immediately after describing deterministic stores, but SecretTypes.Lang defines a Store, assignment (_≔_), update, and executions that return updated stores. This understates the modeled attack surface and contradicts the actual theorem fragment; if the intended exclusion is external or shared mutable state, say that explicitly rather than claiming state is absent.

Consume the canonical prover pin in CI
This new helper is described as the single source of the Agda pin, but the .github/workflows/proofs.yml “Install the pinned prover” and “Verify the checked Agda version” steps still hard-code 2.6.4.3 independently. Updating proof_agda_pin or its package provenance therefore does not update the actual installation and instead breaks CI at scripts/check.sh, contrary to the new no-drift claim. Checkout before installation and derive the workflow's package/version from this helper, or stop presenting it as the canonical pin.
GitHub silently drops an annotation whose message is empty, which is how the
first attempt at surfacing the gate error lost it. Fall back to the log tail,
and record the exit code in the title.

Measured on 2026-11-01: this runner drops annotations emitted by a step that
then fails, so an annotation next to 'exit 1' never appears. The gate now writes
its log to /tmp and an always() step publishes the reason, so a red gate is
readable from an agent session that cannot fetch job logs.

…lag refuses
Adopting PROOF-POLICY 2.1's canonical invocation surfaced a real finding:
under --cubical-compatible, Agda refuses the definition of just-inj
warning: -W[no]UnsupportedIndexedMatch
... relies on injectivity of the data constructor just, which is not yet
supported
and -W error makes a warning fatal, so the gate went red. just-inj was used
nowhere: three of the four modules that could have used it recover what they need
from bind-just instead. Deleting an unused lemma is the honest fix; suppressing
the warning or dropping the flag would have bought a green gate with a weaker
check, which is the one thing the doctrine forbids.
Also: container jobs default to sh, not bash, so the CI diagnostic steps were
dying on bashisms (PIPESTATUS, ${var:0:n}) with exit 2 - a second red herring
found while reading the published log. Declared shell: bash workflow-wide.

…ectivity rule
--cubical-compatible refuses the direct proof: matching suc m = suc n and
returning refl needs constructor injectivity, which Cubical Agda does not
support (-WUnsupportedIndexedMatch), and -W error makes that fatal. _≟_ is not
dead code, so unlike just-inj it cannot simply go.
suc-inj = cong pred gets the same term without the rule (pred (suc m) reduces to
m definitionally), and Dec-map lifts a decision through a pair of inverse maps,
so _≟_ keeps its type and its reduction behaviour. This is the fix the flag was
supposed to force: not a suppressed warning, but a proof that does not need the
rule.
Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
… strict
Adopting PROOF-POLICY 2.1's canonical invocation was attempted on 2026-11-01 and
the gate refused three times. Two causes were real and fixed: just-inj was dead
code relying on just-injectivity (deleted), and _≟_ relied on suc-injectivity
(now decided via pred, which computes definitionally, so no injectivity rule is
needed). The third is structural and not fixable by a lemma: every clause that
matches on _⊑_ is an indexed match, which Cubical Agda does not support, and the
order relation is an indexed family by construction.
So the flag is absent and the gap is recorded, not suppressed:
- docs/proof-debt.adoc W-1: the three CI observations, two arms (keep the waiver
vs re-represent the order as a computed predicate), what would make the waiver
wrong (a -WnoUnsupportedIndexedMatch in the gate), and why the grade is
unaffected.
- receipt: [conformance] block, cubical-compatible = waived, plus the four
dimensions in which this gate is stricter than the canonical invocation.
- PROOF-STATUS: the same, in the record mathesis reads.
Kept from the attempt: the dead-lemma deletion and the retraction-based _≟_,
both of which are simplifications under any flag set.

The estate's DEED/A2ML validator scans every .a2ml in the tree, and the receipt
carried multi-line quoted values - legal to read, not legal to parse. A receipt
that only prose can read is not a machine record, so this is a real defect, not
a validator nuisance.
Co-authored-by: arena-agent <297053741+arena-agent@users.noreply.github.com>
The DEED validator reported 'Missing required identity field (agent-id, name, or
project)' against this record. A machine record has to satisfy the estate's
schema for machine records.

Correct the Prelude comment: the gate does not include --cubical-compatible.
The new comment at src/SecretTypes/Prelude.agda:43-44 says the canonical flag set in scripts/proof-flags.sh "includes --cubical-compatible". The helper omits that flag. Its proof_flags() function prints only --safe, --without-K, --no-libraries, --ignore-interfaces, --double-check and -W error. The helper records --cubical-compatible as waived. Reword the comment to say the flag is waived and absent from the gate, and point to docs/proof-debt.adoc W-1.

Remove --cubical-compatible from the N-1 checker cell.
The N-1 row lists --cubical-compatible among the flags that checked the proof. The gate does not pass that flag. The flag is waived, so the row records a check that did not occur. Rows N-2, N-3, N-7 and N-8 inherit this description through "as above" or "as N-1". Remove the flag from the N-1 cell. Add the waiver to the row, or link to W-1 in docs/proof-debt.adoc.

Correct the epistemic-types prompt: #32 is closed and needs no ruling.
The epistemic-types prompt in the handoff document says issue #32 "remains the open origin record" and asks the recipient for a "transfer-or-keep" ruling. The same PR's audit and transition review record #32 as closed. The owner closed it on 2026-10-05 with no transfer required, and the review says "Do not reopen." The prompt also asks for a wording fix to a sentence that the epistemic-types repository has already removed. Replace both items with the closed state and remove the request for a ruling. Keep the audit's F-8 status for the prepared comments.

Remove "pure total" from the occupancy-types scope statement.
Section 7 describes the proved fragment as "pure total". The calculus includes while with fuel-indexed big-step semantics, so a run may not finish. The theorem is termination-insensitive, and termination is an open channel. Section 5 of this file names that channel. Section 7 does not.
Replace the phrase pure total fragment in the sentence beginning "declassification only at explicit audited points" with:
pure fragment with fuel-indexed `while`, under termination-insensitive noninterference; termination is an open channel
This edit changes only the scope phrase. It does not change the surrounding declassification clause.

Enforce the zero-count rule for trust-base counts in --check.
The [trust-base] block prints postulates and escape-hatches. Its note states that a non-zero count fails the gate. The --check branch does not test either value. It compares the regenerated receipt with the committed receipt and exits 1 only on a difference. A receipt that records escape-hatches = 1 therefore passes after --write.
The escape-hatch pattern also matches comment text, because escape_hits does not exclude comment lines. With the check below, a comment that contains sorry fails the gate. If comment-only matches should not block the gate, exclude comment lines in escape_hits as well.

Use mktemp for the --check diff output.
The --check branch writes the diff to /tmp/receipt-diff.$$, a path that any local user can predict and create before the script runs. The shell follows a symlink at that path and truncates its target. The script already uses mktemp for $tmp on the line above, so the same pattern should apply here. Create the diff file with mktemp, and remove it through the existing trap.

Remove the unrun cubical flag from the proof ledger
The ledger records N-1, and every later proven row that says “as above,” as checked with --cubical-compatible, but proof_flags() does not emit that option and the new waiver explicitly says the gate cannot use it. Consequently, consumers of the ledger are told these claims passed a compatibility check that was never run; list only the actual gate flags and reference the waiver separately.
Adopting --cubical-compatible left three warnings from index unification:
matching any proof of _⊑_ asked for injectivity of the index constructors L and H.
_⊑_ is now a computed predicate (L ⊑ _ = T, H ⊑ H = T, H ⊑ L = F), so the order
laws hold by computation and nothing matches a proof.
The order still says exactly what it said: an impossible flow is still the empty
type, and all three expected-rejection fixtures still fail at their invalid
declaration (verified locally with Agda 2.7.0.1). One cost, recorded where it
bites: a witness no longer pins its target label by its type, so
Countermodels.NoDownClosure names its indices explicitly.
Cubical warnings: 16 -> 13. The remaining class is just-injectivity in the fuel
semantics; proof-debt W-1 now records the two shortcuts measured and rejected,
the technique that works (big-step relation) and why it is an owner decision
about N-5's statement rather than a refactor.
Also: check.sh compares only the first line of agda --version, because bindings
and some distributions print a provenance footer.

Update the waiver to name the remaining blocker
After this change represents _⊑_ as a computed predicate, the indexed order matches cited here no longer exist; PROOF-STATUS.adoc:90-95 explicitly says those warnings are gone and that the remaining incompatibility is just-injectivity in the fuel semantics. Consequently, every generated machine-readable receipt records an obsolete waiver reason, so consumers cannot determine the actual reason --cubical-compatible is still omitted.

Keep the receipt inventory aligned with the gate
When a new .agda module is added without being imported by SecretTypes. All, modules() hashes and counts it in the verification receipt even though scripts/check.sh:39 never asks Agda to check it. The same mismatch occurs for a fixture placed in a subdirectory: fixtures() finds it recursively, while scripts/check.sh:46 only runs tests/reject/*.agda. In either case the generated receipt presents an unchecked file as part of the gated inventory, so the script should share the gate's discovery mechanism or assert that every inventoried file is actually reached.
…rite the handoff prompts
The proof work on this branch was blocked behind a 100s CI round trip; the
sandbox can in fact run Agda (2.7.0.1, via the python binding plus the
agda-wasm data directory) and Zig, so scripts/dev-toolchain.sh makes that
repeatable and names the hosts that block everything else.
docs/reports/status/toolchain-and-version-pins-2026-11-01.adoc records what
is provisionable, what is not and why, and the latest-stable version of every
prover in PROOF-POLICY section 2 -- as facts with dates, not as a pin move.
docs/reports/handoff/out-of-scope-prompts-2026-11-01.adoc holds the prompts
for the repositories that are not ours to edit. Two of them were rewritten
after cloning: thejeffparadox has no prover files at all (Julia experiment,
not a formalised paradox) and IDApTIK is Rust plus Creusot, not Idris2 -- and
its Creusot gate is stricter than ours, so the prompt says so. stuff-of-awesome
404s, so it gets a question instead of a prompt.
README: 'no consumer selected' is a decision about selection, not a claim that
none exists. metadatastician/lintel imports this development and instantiates
the generic TINI; its gate passes against this branch HEAD.

Verify an existing Agda installation before accepting it
When any agda executable is already on PATH, this returns success after only reading its version, so an installation that can print --version but is missing its data directory or cannot typecheck this tree bypasses the SecretTypes. All verification below and is never repaired. In that environment, dev-toolchain.sh agda reports success despite violating the script's usable-prover contract; run the same typecheck before accepting an existing executable.
Three CI failures on 523a4e9, all three found and fixed locally rather than
guessed at:
1. Estate Rules -- 'every tracked .adoc renders clean' failed on the status
report: a table row with 3 cells in a 4-column layout. Asciidoctor 2.0.x
('dropping cells from incomplete row detected end of table') treats that as
an error; 3.x core silently pads it. My local check used
@asciidoctor/core 4.1.1 and passed, which is the lesson: a render check is
only a check if its parser is the parser the gate uses. The table is now
well-formed and dev-toolchain.sh pins the parity parser (core 2.2.9 =
Asciidoctor 2.0.23), so the local run reproduces CI exactly.
2. SonarCloud -- security rating on new code, three findings in
dev-toolchain.sh at the lines testing paths. The paths were read from the
environment; they are now fixed constants under $HOME in two named
functions, because every use creates or writes into them and a value
inherited from a shell is an injection surface this script has no need for.
3. Zig/Idris2 rows: corrected the Idris2 pin row to the real path
(src/interface/Abi) and gave it its fourth cell.
scripts/dev-toolchain.sh also gains a 'docs' mode, which is how the parity
parser is now reproducible instead of being a thing that happened once.

Make provisioned binaries discoverable after installation
On a fresh sandbox where agda is absent, this installs the executable only under $HOME/.tclocal/bin, which is not added to PATH, linked from an existing PATH directory, or even printed as a required PATH update. Consequently the script exits successfully after its direct-path check, but a subsequent agda or scripts/check.sh invocation still cannot find the prover, and dev-toolchain.sh all reports it as absent in status; the Zig installation has the same problem.
The reason will be displayed to describe this comment to others. Learn more.
Hash rejection fixtures in the receipt
When an existing rejection fixture is changed without being renamed, this block emits exactly the same receipt because it records only the path, unlike the source modules above. --check therefore accepts the old committed receipt even though the content supporting the receipt's tested N-4 claim has changed; include each fixture's digest so fixture edits cause receipt drift too.
The Quality Gate failed on 'use [[ instead of [ for conditional tests' at the
two venv-presence checks -- a real rule, and [[ is the right construct in a
bash script anyway. The npm installs also stop spawning 'cd && ' subshells in
favour of npm --prefix, so the only directory a later command inherits is the
repository root.

The Canon lockstep job has been red since before this branch, and it is the job,
not the repository: it fetches hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo at THIS repo's
commit, which cannot exist, so it reports 'no rsr-profile.a2ml' whatever the
repository declares (and the template carries no profile either).
Checked by hand against canon.lock instead. criteria_sha256 matched; version
(2.1.1) and gates_sha256 were stale at canon 2.1.3. Corrected, with the
reasoning recorded in the file: the criteria hash moving would have been a
policy change, but it did not move, so this is a false statement being made
true. Also records two findings left for the owner -- this profile is the
template's file verbatim, including role = "spine" and a maximal capability
set -- and two for the standards repo: the lockstep job's URL, and canon.lock
declaring version 2.1.3 beside tag canon-v2.1.2.

Pin the provisioned Agda version to the gate version
When agda is absent, this installs the latest PyPI release—documented above as 2.7.0.1—while scripts/check.sh defaults to the repository pin of 2.6.4.3 and exits immediately on any mismatch. A fresh sandbox therefore reports successful provisioning after the direct typecheck but still cannot run the repository's advertised proof gate without an undocumented AGDA_VERSION override; install the pinned version or otherwise make the provisioned invocation agree with the gate.

Estate Rules—.adocrender gate. Failed in CI ondropping cells from incomplete row detected end of table, in a table with one short row. My first local check used@asciidoctor/core4.1.1 (Asciidoctor 3.x core), which pads the row silently and passed all 168 files.@asciidoctor/core2.2.9 (Asciidoctor 2.0.23 core, one patch line from CI's 2.0.26) reproduces the Ruby diagnostic exactly. A render check is only a check if its parser is the parser the gate uses;dev-toolchain.sh docsnow installs that one.SonarCloud— security rating on new code. Two findings indev-toolchain.sh:[instead of[[, and paths read from the environment. Both fixed: the paths are now fixed constants under$HOMEin two named functions, because every use creates or writes into them.Canon lockstep— see §7. Not ours.7. The canon pin: corrected by hand, because the job cannot check it
Canon lockstephas been red since before this branch, onmaintoo, and the repository is not the reason: the job fetchesraw.githubusercontent.com/hyperpolymath/rsr-template-repo/${HEAD_SHA}/…— the template repo at this repo's commit — which cannot exist. It therefore reports "norsr-profile.a2ml… this repo cannot declare a canon pin" whatever this repository declares, and the intended URL would 404 as well (the template's.machine_readable/carries no profile atmain). So the pin was checked by hand against
canon.lock(fetched fromhyperpolymath/standards, which redirects tometadatastician/standards):criteria_sha256matched;version(2.1.1 vs 2.1.3) andgates_sha256were stale, and both are now corrected. The criteria hash not moving is what makes this a correction and not a policy change — canon.lock's 2.1.3 entry is a gate-table detection patch that re-gates no criterion. Two findings raised and not acted on, because they are decisions rather than patches: this profile is the template's file verbatim (
role = "spine", and a maximal capability set includingcli,container,benchmarks,docs-siteon the strength of scaffolding rather than code — so the oracle is asked to score this repo against modules it does not carry), andcanon.lockdeclaresversion = "2.1.3"besidetag = "canon-v2.1.2".8. Handoff prompts for repositories that are not ours to edit
docs/reports/handoff/out-of-scope-prompts-2026-11-01.adoc, written after cloning each repo — which is the point, because two of my drafts were wrong:thejeffparadoxhas no prover files at all (Julia experiment harness, not a formalised paradox), so the prompt is about metric names and null models, not about termination pragmas.IDApTIKis Rust + Creusot (pinnedv0.13.0at318615b), not Idris2 — and its gate is stricter than ours in two places (a two-directional debt ledger, and a planted mutant that must fail on the named goal, not merely exit non-zero). ItsPD-06row — a contract rejected because it is false atu32::MAX, "a mutant that passes for the wrong reason" — is the pattern this repository is going to cite.stuff-of-awesome404s; that section is a question, not a prompt.metadatastician/standardsgets the four format/gate findings above, including the lockstep URL bug and thecanon.locktag mismatch.Known red, attributed
